THE BIG FOUR ARE COMING TO THE BR00TAL BRONX
In news that should shock no one , following last week’s highly-discussable first-ever U.S. Big Four (I’ve decided I’m not writing “Big 4” anymore, no matter what the posters say. I’m a grown up and I can take 2 extra seconds to actually type out a number.*) show, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax have announced another concert — this one on the East Coast. It will take place at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday, September 14.
A Wednesday in September. What a bunch of fucking assholes.
ANYWAY, what does this mean? Well, unless Vince’s hatred for the Yankees is such that he can’t even bring himself to set foot in their stadium, I guess it means that he and I are actually gonna go to a Big Four show. Why, when we’re already reasonably confident it’s gonna be, uh, disappointing? I dunno. It’s an event. A happening. Something to do.
Will it be funny? Sad? Surprisingly awesome? I’m hoping that if I imbibe enough alcohol and just don’t think about it too much, I will have what Vince commonly tells me is known as “fun” [But not once you face the cold, hard reality that those beers will cost you $12 each! – VN]. And if it isn’t, well, there’s always the Metallica/Megadeth/Slayer tribute show happening at the HighLine Ballroom a month later. And tickets to that one only cost fifteen bucks!
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on May 6 via Ticketmaster. Metallica fan club members and Yankee season ticket holders get pre-sales on May 4.
