KEVIN TALLEY GETS BURIED SIX FEET UNDER
Why, it was just a couple of days ago that we learned that bassist Terry Butler and drummer Greg Gall have both quit Six Feet Under, and already, the band has announced a replacement for Gall: Kevin Talley, who is joining the group as part of his apparent bid to play with every band ever at least once. (Already on his resumé: Daath, Chimaira, Misery Index, Dying Fetus, Hate Eternal, Suffocation, The Black Dahlia Murder, The Red Chord, and probably fifteen other bands I’m forgetting about.)
It’s not clear if Talley is the mystery songwriting partner SFU have apparently been working with for the past four months, but whether he is or he isn’t, his addition to the band is good news for their fans — Talley is easily one of the best drummers in metal today. In fact, I kinda think talents are gonna be underutilized in Six Feet Under, whose music is, uh, let’s say “simple.” But whatever puts food on the dude’s plate is okay by me, I guess. At least he didn’t join some shitty deathcore band, y’know?
Still no word on Butler’s replacement, but presumably that news will be coming soon. In the meantime, I’m certainly curious to see what Talley elevates Six Feet Under’s game…
