WHEN MADM MET SHINING

Vince and Gary have been raving about Oslo’s Shining all year, and as it turns out, Melissa Auf der Maur — one of the most metal not-quite-metal musicians out there right now — is a big fan, too. She apparently first came into contact with the band at the Dour Festival in Belgium this past summer, and was so won over by the industrial outfit that when she played in their hometown last week (November 22, to be precise), she invited vocalist/guitarist/saxophonist Jørgen Munkeby to join her on stage. I love it when the cool kids can all play in the same sandbox!
