NEILSTEIN SOUNDSCAM: FOR WE ARE NOT THAT MANY APPARENTLY A LOT

Neilstein Soundscam

How about another pointless exercise in trumpeting sales figures that aren’t going to matter in a couple years time when no one will be paying for music ownership because music ownership will be irrelevant? Who’s in? Me! New releases this week included (Hed)p.e., Ill Niño, Monster Magnet, Forbidden,  and Kylesa.

OK, let’s go.

TOP HARD MUSIC CHART

3 ALL THAT REMAINS – FOR WE ARE MANY
This week: 6,957
Cume: 46,877

If this album keeps declining the way it has so far (this is its third week of release) the total sales tally will fall way short of their last record’s. That record was so successful because of a late-hitting radio smash; this record will need the same. [A Prosthetic Records label representative tells us this album’s sales are actually out-pacing the last one… I stand corrected! -Ed.]

7 (HED) P.E. – TRUTH RISING
This week: 4,758 (debut)

Deciding to become Juggalos was the best thing this band ever did.

14 ILL NINO –  DEAD NEW WORLD
This week: 2,999 (debut)

You make me feel so unreal, that I feel real!

15 MONSTER MAGNET – MASTERMIND
This week: 2,978

Good for Dave, I guess.

30 DIMMU BORGIR – ABRAHADABRA
This week: 1,916
Cume: 14,808

I wonder how the recent album cover swap will affect next week’s sales? Serious question.

42 KYLESA – SPIRAL SHADOW
This week: 1,515

1,515 people + Sammy O’Hagar duped into falling for the double-drummer + chick in the band gimmick.

83 FORBIDDEN – OMEGA WAVE
This week: 946 (debut)

See Monster Magnet, above.
