CINEMETAL ROUND-UP: NEW VIDEOS BY UNDEROATH, WHILE SHE SLEEPS, AND DEADSTAR ASSEMBLY
Okay! Time to check out some more new videos from various metal outfits. Ready? Let’s do this thing.
First up we have “In Division” by Underoath. Have Underoath’s Spencer Chamberlain and Norma Jean’s Cory Brandan always sounded like the exact same person and I just never noticed? In any case, this video is actually kinda cool; I don’t know if there’s a thematic connection between the lyrics and the upending of gravity or if they just did it because it worked for Inception, but at least the clip ain’t boring. Almost makes me wish I enjoyed the music.
Next we have “Crows” from While She Sleeps. I once knew a guy who was really obsessed with this girl, and he actually snuck into her bedroom and took photos of her while she slept. But While She Sleeps are way creepier, because they strongly suggest that originality is a dying whore.
Also: Why is the band performing in a lumber yard? Are crows a common occurrence in lumber yards?
Also: Stussy is still around?
Finally, we have “The Darkest Star,” from Deadstar Assembly. I don’t even know what to say about this. It might be the worst song I’ve ever heard. It might be the worst video I’ve ever seen. It’s a good fourteen years behind current trends. Everything about it is awful, awful, awful. Awful. Awful. Aaaaaawwwwwwffffuuullll. Awful.
Awful.
