THE HUMAN ABSTRACT GO FROM FIRST TO LAST
In a dramatic but highly unexpected turn of events, Andy Richter, comedic actor and star of the legendary sitcom Quintuplets, has replaced Nathan Ells as the new vocalist for The Human Abstract.
Wait, hold on a sec. Vince is IMing me. Just a minute.
[returns a little while later]
Excuse me. TRAVIS Richter is the new singer for The Human Abstract. TRAVIS, not Andy. Oh well.
Travis, in case you don’t know, is the former guitarist/vocalist/apparent sufferer of terrible accident at Super Cuts for From First to Last, a band it will most likely surprise no one to learn that I really, really do not like. But since I have such admiration and respect for The Human Abstract, I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt. In terms of songwriting, they’re clearly light years ahead of FFTL, and Richter’s voice seems appropriate for their back catalog (although if he has Ells’ range, I haven’t heard it). So I’m choosing to be optimistic about this turn of events, at least until I hear Richter perform with the band.
Here’s Richter and FFTL’s video for “Worlds Away,” which is the only place this song should ever be played.
