MADBALL FRONTMAN CASUALLY REVEALS PARTIAL LINEUP FOR 2010 BLACK N BLUE BOWL
The organizers behind New York’s annual Black N Blue Bowl / Superbowl of Hardcore have been steadfastly tight-lipped about the lineup at this year’s event. Though apparently something this big can’t stay hidden very long, as Madball frontman Freddy Cricien let a few names slip at a a recent concert in Poughkeepsie, NY–and subsequently that tasty bit of hardcore intel was confirmed.
Thanks Freddy!
Here’s who we now know is playing: the Cro-Mags, Skarhead, Wisdom in Chains, and Trapped Under Ice, along with (obviously) Madball. (What? No Agnostic Front?) I’ve already known for weeks that Cro-Mags would be part of the lineup, since John Joseph couldn’t help but mention the May 15th Webster Hall gig during a December concert I attended over at Santos Party House. Since this day-long event kicks off in the afternoon, naturally there are still plenty of other bands yet to be announced, but the confirmed acts are all respectively impressive enough to get hardcore fans stoked enough to buy tickets… which are not yet on sale. Who else would you like to see on the lineup?
In other news, Madball recently signed on to Good Fight Entertainment, the new label from dudes who used to run Ferret Records, making them labelmates with recently reunited Midwest hardcore act Disembodied and the Axl-Rosenberg-approved Sons Of Aurelius. Let’s hope that this partnership will lead to a long-awaited new Madball record in 2010, which will probably make my year-end list by default.
