HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU: TRIPTYKON GET A RELEASE DATE
Just a couple of weeks ago I was wondering if Triptykon, Thomas Gabriel Fischer’s post-Celtic Frost project, were ever gonna announce a release date for their debut album. I should have been more media savvy, though; the band didn’t release two new tracks just ’cause Tommy Boy wanted to share his art with you. There was an announcement in the works.
And that announcement has arrived, by way of e-mail press release! Hoo-ray! Here’s what that e-mail press release says:
Triptykon, the group formed by former Hellhammer/Celtic Frost singer, guitarist, and main songwriter Tom Gabriel Warrior, is proud to announce that the groups’ own label, Prowling Death Records Ltd., has entered into a licensing agreement with renowned metal giant Century Media Records.
Under the agreement, Century Media Records will release Triptykon’s massive debut album, Eparistera Daimones, in Europe and North America on March 22, 2010.
And then there’s a bunch of other stuff that’s not that interesting.
But March 22! Awesome. That’s closer than you think. And those new songs were killer. I’m stoked for this one. 2010 is gonna make a run for 2009’s title of “holy shit year of the early 21st century,” I can feel it.
