TIME FOR A NEW GOD FORBID ALBUM ALREADY? SWEEEEEET…
Yesterday God Forbid announced that they’ll be playing a very special show on January 9 at Dingbatz in Clifton, NJ. Now, Dingbatz only holds about two-hundred people and advance tickets to the show are a whopping twelve bucks, so this is pretty cool in and of itself. But even cooler for those of us who can’t attend the show is the opening sentence from the announcement:
God Forbid has decided to take a break from writing the new album to play an exclusive one-off headline gig at Dingbatz in Clifton, NJ on Saturday Jan 9th.
So it would seem that, less than a year after the release of Earthsblood, God Forbid are hard at work on their next record. Which is great news! It was an unbearable four years in-between the release of the band’s last album, IV: Constitution of Treason, and Earthsblood, and even though it ended up being well worth the wait, having another new offering from GF before 2013 (or 2012 or hopefully 2011) would be awesome.
Still no word on who’s gonna step in for Dallas Coyle. Of course it’s always possible that God Forbid go The Red Chord route and become a four piece, or that Doc Coyle plays all the guitars on the album and the band then just recruits a touring guitarist, but I suspect someone will end up in that second guitar slot sooner or later…
You can buy tickets for the Dingbatz show here. I’ve literally never seen God Forbid play a bad show, so it should be a killer time.
