PREDICTION: KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, LACUNA COIL AND CHIMAIRA END UP AT NEW ENGLAND METAL FEST
While we had just planned on catching Killswitch Engage, Lacuna Coil and Chimaira on this Spring’s Music As A Weapon Tour and leaving before Disturbed hit the stage, it may be that we won’t have to. The latest round of announced tour dates includes an April 15th date in Lowell, Mass, a Boston exurb on the New Hampshire border that’s only 40 miles (and 2 days) away from the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival in Worcester, Mass. Could we be in for some more additions to the Friday night lineup?
NEMHF wouldn’t want Disturbed nor would the band likely want to play, but there’s no reason KsE, Lacuna Coil and Chimaira couldn’t take the trip down for an off-date. Pesky radius clauses could prohibit them from doing so, but perhaps an exception could be made. The already awesome lineup for Saturday, April 18th features Lamb of God atop tons of other kick-ass bands, but the Friday lineup is a bit weak; there are some killer bands playing (Psycroptic, Intronaut, The Haunted, Napalm Death, Cattle Decapitation and tons of others), but All That Remains as a headliner doesn’t seem quite right. Having Killswitch headline a “hometown” show would just about do the trick, while Chimaira and Lacuna Coil would add some much needed firepower to the Friday bill.
