ZO2 HAS THIS “WORKING MUSICIAN” THING FIGURED OUT PRETTY WELL
We’ve harped on the “how can musicians make a decent living these days?” conundrum quite a bit here; with record companies in the shitter and gas prices up the wazoo, what the fuck is a band supposed to do to get by? New York hard rock fixtures ZO2 seem to have found the answer by taking day jobs as a band that performs at little kid birthday parties. Not exactly the definition of “cred,” but then again… it kind of IS the definition of cred. Opening for Kiss by night and opening for Bozo the Clown by day beats the hell out of a day job as a seasonal worker or bartender in between tours, right?
Luckily for ZO2, the Independent Film Channel decided to give the band their very own semi-reality comedy TV series called Z Rock, which no doubt helps pay the bills as well. Judging by the below trailer it actually looks pretty funny (with some help from some A- and B-list rockstar cameos, including none other than Sebastian “I-namedrop-Axl-in-every-interview” Bach).
Z Rock premiers August 24th at 11:30pm on IFC.
