UPDATED: DECAPITATED FRONTMAN’S “CONDITION IS STABLE”

Decapitated have offered the following update on vocalist Adrian “Covan” Kowanek’s condition following last week’s car wreck, which proved fatal to drummer Witold “Vitek” Kieltyka. A posting on the band’s MySpace page reads as follows:

“Covan is currently at a hospital in Kraków, Poland. Doctors describe his condition as stable and he is showing signs of improvement every day. At this time, visiting is prohibited except to family members due to his fragile state. In the coming days, the decision on his follow-up treatment will be made.”

The band is also asking for its fans’ help in raising money for Vitek and Covan’s families:

“We are getting ready to organize a special sale with Original DECAPITATED Gear (some of which was actually used in the recording studio) limited/never before printed T-shirts and merch, other one-of-a-kind memorabilia, and gifts from our friends in other bands to help raise money for Vitek’s and Covan’s families. For those who would like to make donations directly, there will be more information posted in a few days, so please keep checking back with us. Every effort, big or small, counts for something!”
