BILLY MILANO TO ANTHRAX: “GET JOHN BUSH BACK IN THE BAND”
It’s hard to find a headline about S.O.D. / M.O.D. frontman Billy Milano without the word “outspoken” in it, but frankly it’s well-deserved; the guy just shoots his mouth off and doesn’t give a fuck (he’s even been spotted as a commenter here on MetalSucks). We’re not sure how recent this interview with Blasting-Zone.com is, but Milano references the Anthrax / Corey Taylor (Slipknot, Stone Sour) collaboration possibility in the past tense, meaning it couldn’t be more than couple of months old. In the interview, Milano talks about S.O.D., M.O.D, and of course, Anthrax:
“In all honesty, I think the consensus is in for them. At this stage in the game, I think they should just move on. Or get John Bush back in the band. That’s the end of it. Then everyone can shut up. The whole idea of Corey (Taylor) from Slipknot was too hard to imagine. First of all, I think Slipknot sucks. Besides that, the guy’s voice just doesn’t fit Anthrax at all. They had already established a good career with John Bush. They should have stuck with it, ya know? …The bottom line is this: they had a chance to do it with Joey Belladonna again, but they didn’t implement it properly. It was more about a cash grab and everybody saw it.”
The man speaks the truth, my friends. Let’s even give Anthrax the benefit of the doubt by saying that the Belladonna reunion wasn’t a cash grab and that they did it for the fun of it; it still showed little foresight, because like Milano said… where do you go from there? And you all know how we feel about John Bush here at MetalSucks… more Bush is a good thing, as long as it ain’t Dubya.
