MORE VAN HALEN TOMFOOLERY
Even though the images of Michael Anthony that were airbrushed out of artwork on Van Halen’s website have now been restored to their original versions, the fun and games continue over in the Van Halen camp. Idolator reports that not only are Anthony’s backing vocals going to be piped in during the band’s upcoming live performances, but the Van Halen brothers have gone so far as to remove Anthony’s writing credit from the band’s past work. Apparently he is being considered nothing but a session musician to them; not only is he not listed as a writer in the credits for the new film Superbad (which features the song “Panama”), but apparently Anthony’s name has been removed from VH songs in the ASCAP database. Can you say “fucked up?”
Next thing we know Van Halen are going to re-release all their albums with re-recorded bass parts courtesy of Wolfgang “Fatty ding-dongs” Van Halen.
