POSSIBLY THE BEST CONTEST EVER

We feel pretty good about the fact that five lucky MetalSucks readers will be winning free CDs by The Showdown this week, but our pals over at The Deciblog have alerted us to a contest that is even cooler: The Austerity Program are promoting their new album Black Madonna with a competition where you can win, amongst other things, a free show for you and your friends anywhere within 100 miles of the band’s Brooklyn headquarters, or a song written and recorded especially for you to meet your specifications (seriously – they’ll even give you the masters). And the best part is, all you have to do is answer some silly trivia questions and/or shave the band’s initials into your pubes!!!

I’d never heard of this band before and checked out their music immediately after reading the posting – and it’s not quite my thing. Still, you gotta give these guys props: this is way cooler than winning, say, Jon Bon Jovi’s old house.
