ANOTHER SO-SO THROWDOWN SINGLE

So Throwdown released the new single from their upcoming album Venom & Tears yesterday via iTunes. Entitled “Americana,” it is, like the previously released “Holy Rollers,” a not especially great, but not especially awful song – but it is a pretty bad choice for a first single. I imagine it was chosen because the constant cries of “ALL HAIL!” will make a great call and response in concert, but even “Holy Rollers” had a stronger hook.

Needless to say, the best part is the breakdown that leads into the unsurprisingly Dimebag-esque solo, which just confirms what I already suspected: artistic progress be damned, these dudes should probably just stick to making meat n’ potaters hardcore, Hatebreed-style.
