VIDEO OF THE DAY: PRESSURE 4-5, “BEAT THE WORLD”
It hasn’t even been 6 years since this video came out but already it’s a completely dated time piece that screams “nu-metal.” By 2001 the third wave of nu-metal bands had arrived to announce the impending doom of the genre, and this video has every single cliche of the era: PRS guitar (through Mesa Rectifier, of course), 5-string bass, backwards hats, stop-motion cuts for emphasis, fake live performance setting, and band members jumping around the stage like hip hop goons. You can’t really blame the dudes in Pressure 4-5 — this was a pretty good song — but this video is such a product of the times that it’s entertaining in its badness.
