THE ABSENCE ARE “DEAD AND GONE”

I’m curious to hear Riders of the Plague, the new album by Floridian melodic death metal outfit The Absence. Their first album, From Your Grave, wasn’t spectacular, exactly, but it was a solid effort, and I’m curious to hear what these guys have in store for the follow-up. Also, at least two of the band’s members have totally awesome beards, so brownie points for that.

ANYWAY, the first single from the new release, “Dead and Gone,” is now avail on the band’s MySpace page. I’ve only given it a quick listen but don’t find it as interesting as any of the material from Grave. Still, we’ll have to wait and see…

Riders of the Plague comes out on Metal Blade on August 7.
