THE NEW GREAT ANGRY SONG: DEW-SCENTED’S “THAT’S WHY I DESPISE YOU”

I don’t think anyone who reads this site has any doubt that I have anger management issues (at least one of you has told me to go on medication). Luckily, I have metal as an outlet so I don’t actually hurt anyone (okay, there was that one homeless guy, but c’mon). I think I once started every morning by blasting Pantera’s “5 Minutes Alone” and Chimaira’s “Pure Hatred” for an entire summer because it was the only way I could bring myself to go to my shitty day job.

Well, as someone so full of rage, I am pleased (and by “pleased,” I mean “pissed off”) to announce that there’s a great new song for people like me, who don’t see the glass half full or half empty but, rather, shattered on the table, leaving only a puddle. And that song is Dew-Scented’s latest single, “That’s Why I Despise You.”

These German dudes have been making excellent thrash since ’92, and their latest release, Incinerate, is no exception. “Despise” features a stuck-in-your head riff and vocals that are rife with genuine hatred, to say nothing of these beautiful lyrics:

“That’s why I despise you… I abhor every word that you speak.
That’s why I despise you… I detest every breath that you take.”

Fuck Goethe; that’s beautiful German poetry.
