VIDEO OF THE DAY: RATT “LAY IT DOWN” ON JAPANESE TV

American rockstars, particularly hair metal bands, always make for extremely humorous interviews on TV in Japan where they still have thriving careers to this day. In this one, Stephen Pearcy talks about taking panties that girls throw at him on stage and hanging them on the band’s mic stands, a move that in the polite Japanese culture would be the equivalent of having strippers on stage in the US. The interview is followed by a mailed-in lip-syncing performance, “live” in the studio. Amazing what passed for TV in this era.
