DIMEBAG N’ DOWNLOAD
The Download Festival (f.k.a. Donnington), pretty much the best heavy metal music festival in the world, has announced that their second stage will now be named after Dimebag Darrell.
This is obviously a fitting tribute to one of the greatest metal guitarists, if not one of the greatest guitarists period, of all time.
This year’s festival will take place June 8, 9 and 10. Inaugural headliners for the second stage will be Korn, Motley Crue, and Billy Talent. Other bands slated to appear (on the second stage or elsewhere) include Slayer, Megadeth, Marilyn Manson, Machine Head, Lamb of God, Killswitch Engage, Mastodon, Shadows Fall, Chimaira, Velvet Revolver, Buckcherry, Dragonforce, Dream Theater, Napalm Death, Dimmu Borgir, DevilDriver, Unearth, Suicidal Tendencies, Porcupine Tree, Hellyeah, and Iron motherfuckin’ Maiden. Even with Linkin Suck and My Chemical Romance co-headlining with Maiden, that’s a pretty amazing line-up.
