STATIC-X STILL SUCK

I don’t care how big his hair is: Wayne Static (what a stupid name) still sucks. His band’s new track, “Cannibal,” is clearly designed to jump off the nu-metal bandwagon and onto the American New Wave train (complete with a guitar solo!), but it doesn’t work because, well, the song is unmemorable in almost every way. The thing about nu-metal bands (like hair metal bands) is this: they’re best at writing hookey, melodic pop metal, not Slayer songs. Leave that to Lamb of God, guys (that goes for you, too, Sevendust).
