H.I.M. RELEASE NEW VIDEO — WITH SECRETS — BUT YOU CAN’T SEE IT
Finnish love-metallers H.I.M. have released a video for the first single “Kiss of Dawn” from their forthcoming release Venus Doom out in September. Unfortunately, the butt dumplings over at Sire Records have yet to remove the 10 foot poles lodged up their asses and have decided that the only way to view the video is to purchase it for $1.99 on iTunes. Are you fucking kidding me? You want us to blog about a video we can’t even see? Suck a dick. Presumably the hard-core fans will buy this, so basically what this means is that the true fans are rewarded for their continued patronage by having to shell out $2 for a fucking music video. Unbelievable — and people at major labels wonder why they’re losing their jobs.
It’s really too bad, too, because we’re big fans of H.I.M. and the song and video are both really good (from what we could tell from the version posted on YouTube which has now been pulled). According to a press release, the video has hidden secrets; “Written as part of the original treatment by Director Meiert Avis, you must watch carefully because things are not what they seem – and just when you though you had it all figured out, there is more to find. Once you watch the video go to heartagram.com to solve the mystery. The person who cracks the code will get to see any HIM show of their choice in 2007 or 2008 and meet the band backstage.”
If anyone is foolish enough to pay two dollars for a music video, let us know. Also, feel free to send any mp3 rips to news [at] metalsucks.net.
