Amorphis Plan to Head Into the Studio After Fall Tour

0

Finnish metal act Amorphis announced some amorphous plans to record a new album following their upcoming fall tour, following up their 2022 album Halo. In a recent interview with The Chill Dude On a Couch, the band’s guitarist, Tomi Koivusaari, talked about the plans, saying (as transcribed by Blabbermouth):

“We’re going to the studio straight after the U.S. tour [in the fall of 2024]. And we’ll be recording [for] a few months. And so the new album will be out, like, [in] ’25.”

But apparently the band doesn’t have a consensus on the direction the new album will take, mostly because the band just doesn’t work that way. Here’s how Koivusaari explained the band’s process:

“I think everybody has just made some songs, but we haven’t shared it yet with the other guys. So I haven’t heard what other guys are doing. I just heard what I’ve been doing. I [don’t know what will] end up end up [on] the album. But we will see. We will have a new producer. We’ve done the three last albums with Jens Bogren, and now we have a new direction in a way.”

Amorphis’ fall tour is a double-headlining tour with Dark Tranquility with Fires in the Distance on the bill as well. Check out the full list of dates below:
