Belushi Speed Ball Pay Tribute to the Internet’s Busiest Music Nerd with “This Is The Peak”

0

It’s always awesome to be recognized by your peers. It’s even better for leaders in your respective field to tout your efforts. But for Belushi Speed Ball, one accolade apparently tops all — being called hilarious by the “internet’s busiest music nerd” — Anthony Fantano.

If you’re as chronically on the internet as most people are these days, you know Fantano well. The bald, glasses-wearing, sometimes wrong but more often than not spot on YouTube music reviewer gave props to Belushi Speed Ball’s 2022 album What, Us Worry? It was that exact moment that bassist/vocalist Vinny Crastellano says spawned the latest single off of Belushi Speed Ball’s upcoming album Stellkira, “This Is The Peak.”

“Anthony Fantano reviewed our last album, calling it “the funniest F—ing thing he has heard all year”. We quickly sat down and wrote a song dedicated to that man’s meaty thick thighs. This is it, THE PEAK! We have accomplished the highest level of achievement in music. Our love for melon is forever immortalized through sound. Hold on sugar, daddy has a sweet tooth tonight!”

Sure, this track may not be about the holy grail of food items, but what it lacks in cheese and sauce, it makes up for in circle pit-worthy riffs and enough self-deprecation to choke most internet personalities. Even the Beatles catch a stray in this one, which is fucking hilarious.

And while it’s easy to laugh at the band’s contention that Fantano’s 45 second mention of the album will be the best moment in their career, I’m willing to go out on a limb and say as long as they keep giving us high speed thrash to melt our faces on, they’ll be doing just fine.

Seriously, you guys need to check out Stellkira when it drops on May 10. If you’ve heard enough from the band’s first two singles and think “motherfucker, this is what I need in my life right now,” then you can always preorder your copy today.
