Horna: Multiple Shows on U.S. Tour Cancelled

Update, March 24, 5:29 p.m: A rep for All That Remains tells us the Mesa show “is no longer happening. ATR does not associate with these type of bands and they also have zero affiliation with our tour package [with Escape the Fate].” MetalSucks and All That Remains were bound to see eye to eye on something sooner or later. Glad it’s this.

Following our report yesterday on Finnish black metal band Horna’s close ties to the NSBM scene, four shows on the band’s upcoming U.S. tour have been cancelled, according to the Twitter account of Heresy Labs, which is closely monitoring the situation. The cancelled shows are as follows:

3/31 – Oakland Metro Operahouse – Oakland, CA
04/01 – Bossonova Ballroom – Portland, OR
04/04 – Hi-Dive – Denver, CO
04/07 – Kingsland – Brooklyn, NY

Metal Mafia Records, the promoter of the Brooklyn show, posted a message on the show’s Facebook event page claiming that the show hasn’t been canceled, just moved, although no further information was provided.

Meanwhile, there’s some confusion regarding the band’s show scheduled for March 29 at Club Red in Mesa, AZ. It seems that All That Remains and Escape the Fate are scheduled to play the same venue on the same night, and ATR frontman Phil Labonte has condemned Horna and made it clear that All That Remains want nothing to do with them:

However, the venue has two stages, and the two shows are separately-ticketed events. So although Labonte’s stance is commendable, it may not have any actual impact on the Horna show.

More as this story continues to develop.
