Chris Fehn is Out of Slipknot
Slipknot have parted ways with percussionist Chris Fehn.
The not-exactly-shocking development comes on the heels of last week’s news that Fehn is suing his now-former bandmates, who he believes have cheated him out of his fair share of the proverbial pot. At the time the story broke, frontman Corey Taylor took to social media to advise fans to “wait ’til the truth comes out.”
Now the band have officially announced the split with Fehn on their official website:
“Slipknot’s focus is on making album #6, and our upcoming shows around the world, our best ever. Chris knows why he is no longer a part of Slipknot. We are disappointed that he chose to point fingers and manufacture claims, rather than doing what was necessary to continue to be a part of Slipknot. We would have preferred he not take the path that he has, but evolution in all things is a necessary part of this life. Long Live The Knot.”
As the statement suggests, the timing of the Fehn feud time couldn’t be worse: Slipknot are just about to begin the promotional cycle for their new album in earnest. It remains to be seen whether or not they’ll replace Fehn in the immediate future.
Fehn is the third member of the band’s classic line-up who will now no longer be part of the band, after late bassist Paul Gray and fired drummer Joey Jordison. He has not released a statement as of press time.
