Ozzy Osbourne Is on the Mend and “Back to His Normal Routine”
I think we’ve all been a little worried about Ozzy Osbourne as of late. The poor guy has been plagued by health issues since last year, when a staph infection caused the cancelation of several U.S. dates. Then, in February, Osbourne was hospitalized with what at the time was being reported as a “very bad case” of the flu, leading to the cancelation of his entire U.K./European tour. That “very bad case” of the flu turned out to be pneumonia, and later that same month, the Ozzman was also forced to cancel dates in Australia, New Zealand, and Japan. Ozzy is getting up there — he turned seventy in December — so this whole ordeal has been kind of a nail biter.
Luckily, the Ozzfam says the singer is now on mend.
Classic Rock watched the show Access so that I’ll never have to, and report that this exchange occurred with Sharon and Jack Osbourne (Ozzy’s wife/manager and son, respectively, in case you somehow don’t know that):
Jack says: “Well, if this gauges where he’s at, he’s complaining a lot and he’s back to his normal routine. So everything’s A-okay.”
Sharon adds: “That’s always a good sign, when he complains and he’s miserable then you know it’s good.”
Jack then says: “It’s when he’s happy and skipping around. You’re like, ‘There’s something really wrong here. Call the doctor!’”
So that’s all good news. Ozzy is scheduled to begin the next round of North American “No More Tours 2” dates in May, with Megadeth opening. That gives Ozzy another two months to rest up and get back into performing shape. We’re all pulling for him. Sharon, hit us up if we can swing by with some chicken soup or something.
