Convicted Pedophile and Former Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins Charged with Possessing a Cell Phone in Jail
Ian Watkins has been charged with possessing an unauthorized item in prison, the BBC reports — specifically, a cell phone.
The former Lostprophets singer in currently in the midst of a 35-year sentence for multiple acts of pedophilia, including the attempted rape of an 11-month-old. He has been consistently unrepentant for his crimes; as recently as October of 2017 — four years after he was sentenced — he was busted “grooming” a 21-year-old woman to engage in sexual acts with her two-year-old (thankfully, the woman subsequently lost custody of the child).
Watkins plead not guilty to these latest charges, and will stand trial on August 5. He’s currently scheduled to be in jail un 2049, when he will be 72-years-old; it’s not clear what amount of time will be tacked onto his sentence if he is indeed found guilty of having the phone.
