Woodstock 2019: First Acts Announced
The line-up for this summer’s fiftieth anniversary edition of Woodstock is beginning to take shape, and it will probably not surprise you to see that thus far, a dearth of metal bands have been booked for the event.
Between reports from Billboard and Variety, we now know 25 of the artists set for the festival, and only two — Robert Plant and his divisive disciples, Greta Van Fleet — come anywhere near being metal. Which isn’t to say there aren’t some great folks booked — I’d honestly be more excited to see Run the Jewels than I would GVF — but so far this is looking like a pretty mosh-free show. Other than Imagine Dragons’ set, obviously.
