Slipknot Launch Countdown Website for New Album + Tour
Slipknot have launched a new website, wearenotyourkind.com, which arrives complete with a clock counting down to this coming Monday, March 4. So we can assume the band is getting ready to make a big announcement about their new album and/or tour (which, incidentally, is rumored to also include Volbeat, Behemoth, and Gojira). The phrase “We Are Not Your Kind,” of course, comes from the band’s recently-released song, “All Out Life,” while the group’s members have been utilizing the hashtag #WANYK on social media recently. So it seems increasingly likely that We Are Not Your Kind is the name of the band’s new album.
As you can see, if you visit the site on your desktop, you’re asked to come back on a mobile. Upon doing so, you’re asked to share your location. Some fans are reporting that upon doing so, they’re given a date: Friday, August 9. So it’s entirely possible that this when the album will come out.
Meanwhile, Metal Injection reports that if you share your data on the mobile site, you’re given map coordinates to a nearby venue. Presumably, this is where the band will be playing when they come to your town.
No word yet re: what Corey Taylor thinks. But expect big news Monday one way or the other.
