Vio-lence Will Reunite for One-Off Reunion Show with Phil Demmel

0

Ever since Phil Demmel quit Machine Head late last year, Vio-lence fans have been clamoring for a reunion with the Bay Area thrash legends. Demmel was tapped as an emergency fill-in for Slayer shortly after exiting MH, but that was just a temporary gig; surely he’ll end up somewhere else long-term, and the time to revisit Vio-lence seemed right.

Now it’s come to light that the rumored reunion will indeed happen, but for one night only. The band will perform their debut album Eternal Nightmare in full on Saturday, April 13 at the Oakland Metro in Oakland, CA, with some “other surprises” thrown in. The lineup will be as follows:

Phil Demmel (guitar)
Sean Killian (vocals)
Deen Dell (bass)
Perry Strickland (drums)
Ray Vegas (guitar)

Four of those men performed on Eternal Nightmare, the exception being Vegas who joined the band in ’91. Notably, Robb Flynn played guitar on that album alongside Demmel… and we’re guessing he won’t be involved in this show, but who knows, maybe that’ll be one of the surprises! (Flynn performed with the band at a 2018 benefit for Killian, who is battling stage four liver cirrhosis, so presumably there’s no bad blood between he and the rest of the guys). This should be a special night for Vio-lence fans, so if you’re mulling over attending you should probably pick up tickets ASAP.
