Yuck: Here’s a Photo of Matt Pike’s Partially Amputated Toe

There’s marketing, and then there’s marketing.

The crack team behind High on Fire’s Instagram account (perhaps Matt Pike himself?) understood the opportunity to plug the band’s new album Electric Messiah alongside a photo of Pike’s recently amputated toe was too good to pass up. And so they did exactly that.

We’re still not clear on what necessitated the partial removal of Pike’s second toe, but whatever it was couldn’t have been fun. It caused the cancelation of the band’s supposed-to-be-in-progress-right-now tour with Municipal Waste, Toxic Holocaust and Haunt. The tour is still going on without High on Fire, though (dates here).
