Video: Guns N’ Roses Play Velvet Revolver’s “Slither”
We’ve wondered in the past why the semi-reunited Guns N’ Roses are playing material from Chinese Democracy but not either of the Velvet Revolver albums, since all of those releases had more or less equal claim to being GN’R records. Now we need wonder no more: the band performed Velvet Revolver’s biggest hit, “Slither,” during their performance in Berlin yesterday (Sunday, June 3).
Of course, we were wondering why they didn’t play any VR tracks in the context of a larger discussion about why they’re wasting precious set time on this kind of stuff instead of more GN’R originals, so this development isn’t “good” so much as it’s “neutral.” And maybe even “bad” when you consider that Rose sounds outta gas. Or perhaps back to “good” if you consider that to do this Rose had to swallow his pride and perform lyrics by a guy who once called him a “fat, botox-faced, wig-wearin’ fuck.”
