Ghost: Identity and Cause of Death Revealed of Man Who Died at Show

On the eve of the release of Ghost’s magnificent new album Prequelle, tragedy struck the Ghost camp: a fan collapsed at the band’s show in Milwaukee, WI and later died after being taken to the hospital. The band canceled the remainder of the show and an album release afterparty while a number of fans in attendance blamed a lackluster response by venue staff for the fan’s death.

Milwaukee’s Fox6Now.com is reporting that the man who died was 52-year old Jeffrey Fortune of Dane County, WI (Madison is the biggest city there). The Medical Examiner said that Fortune died of natural causes, although he had a history of cardiac issues including heart failure.

It’s been said here and elsewhere plenty, but it bears repeating: at least Fortune went doing something he loved. Our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
