Korn Announce Follow the Leader 20th Anniversary Shows
Last week, Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch said that “We’ve got some plans to resurrect some cool tour plans next year, 2019.” Not a whole lot to go on there, although some fans speculated the band could be planning to revive The Family Values Tour and our own Axl Rosenberg snarkily suggested they’d bring back the famed Cool Tour.
Whether Head’s comment had anything to do with the following we don’t yet know, but Korn just announced three very special shows at which they’ll celebrate the 20th anniversary of their 1998 album Follow the Leader. The dates are:
09/12 San Fransisco, CA – The Masonic
09/13 Los Angeles, CA – Hollywood Palladium
09/15 Las Vegas, NV – Pearl Concert Theater
Could Korn be planning an extended run of that tour for 2019? It would no longer be the album’s 20th anniversary, but bands have certainly overlooked greater technicalities before.
I was never much of a Korn fan, but even your jaded metal blogger friend will concede that Follow the Leader has some jams on it — the album went 5x platinum.
We’ll keep you posted if the band announces any more dates.
