Rob Zombie Begins Shooting Sequel to The Devil’s Rejects, Announces Title

Last year, word got out that Rob Zombie was planning on writing and directing a sequel to The Devil’s Rejects (itself a sequel to House of 1,000 Corpses), and fans got wwwwaaayyyy excited, I assume because Rejects remains Zombie’s most interesting film to date.

Zombie has now taken to Instagram to announce that shooting of the sequel has commenced, and that it will be called Three from Hell:

It’s safe to assume that the titular numeral is referring to the characters of Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig), Otis (Bill Moseley), and Baby (Sheri Moon Zombie), the homicidal antiheroes from the previous movies… although interestingly, the only one of those three actors Zombie doesn’t give a hashtag to is Haig. Maybe the third member of Three from Hell is someone new… but I’m hoping Zombie just forgot, ’cause Haig was my favorite part of Rejects (and I’m a fan in general).

In any case, I guess that Otis and Baby, at least, either survived the end of The Devil’s Rejects after all, or the series is a taking a turn for the supernatural like so many slasher franchises before it (HalloweenFriday the 13th, etc.).

Presumably we’ll know more as shooting progresses. Production will surely wrap before July 11, when Zombie begins his co-headlining summer tour with Marilyn Manson (dates here). Expect to see Three from Hell sometime in 2019.
