Bruce Corbitt (Warbeast / Rigor Mortis) Joins Cancer Treatment Clinical Trial: “There Is Hope for Me After All”

Finally, some good news for Warbeast/Rigor Mortis frontman Bruce Corbitt!

The vocalist, you no doubt recall, was diagnosed with esophageal cancer last spring. Treatments to fight the cancer, unfortunately, proved unsuccessful, and in January, doctors gave Corbitt anywhere from two months to two years left to live.

But now, in a pair of new social media posts, Corbitt announced that for the first time in a long time, there’s reason to feel at least some optimism regarding his illness:

“Got my 2nd opinion… they found me a clinical trial that is perfect for my situation. So I’ve just signed it to go for it. It will be immunotherapy for starters. So there is hope for me after all.”

Corbitt elaborates in the below video, in which he says the doctors are determined to get him back on stage. We also learn that he has the coolest GPS ever:

Like Corbitt says, this isn’t a guarantee of anything, but it’s a fighting chance, and that’s something. We’ll keep pulling for Corbitt… hopefully there will be some more positive developments soon.
