Here’s the New Godflesh Song “Post Self”
It’s a good month to be a fan of Justin K. Broadrick: after last week’s JK Flesh remix of Survive’s “Other,” the industrial metal pioneer returns with a brand new Godflesh track and a new album, Post Self, coming in November.
Via press release:
Over two years in the making, Post Self explores the less metal side of Godflesh, taking in their formative influences to conjure something more informed by late 70’s/early 80’s post-punk and industrial. The album deals with themes of anxiety, depression, fear, mortality, and paternal/maternal relationships.
I’m really digging the industrial tilt of the title track, with its pulsating, undulating back-beat. Despite the press copy’s claim that Post Self will be “less metal,” this track still goes really fucking hard.
