Bring Me The Horizon’s Oli Sykes Responds to Accusations of Lip Syncing
I haven’t watched this weekend’s Chester Bennington tribute show, at which a series of guest vocalists fronted Linkin Park, because, well, I’m not a Linkin Park fan. But apparently those who did watch were less-than-pleased with the performance of “Crawling,” on which Bring Me the Horizon’s Oli Sykes handled singing duties. The reason? Sykes appeared to be lip syncing.

While this might seem like fodder for Horizon Haters to forever ridicule Sykes and his band, both Sykes and Linkin Park’s Mike Shinoda have now denied the charge, blaming the visibly out-of-sync vocals on a technical snafu:
Só tonight was amazing but….

Some1 fucked up hard n used my rehearsal take from the night before on the live stream… no lip sync, here’s the real deal

Anyway technical difficulties aside, what an amazing life affirming thing to be part of, thankyou @linkinpark

Oli sang great, I had his vocal in my monitors. He was certainly not lip synching FYI. Keep it all ❤️, friends https://t.co/tNliqv4DQV

I’m sure conspiracy theorists who are determined to prove that Sykes is a poseur will bend over backwards to explain this explanation away. I hope they keep themselves entertained doing so.
