Judas Priest Announce New Album + Tour
Time to get that leather suit out of storage: Judas Priest are back!
The legendary NWOBHM outfit entered the studio to make their new album this past March; they have now announced that they’ll release the results early next year. The record will be called Firepower, a name so obvious I can’t believe it hasn’t been used for a previous Priest release.
And while we don’t know exactly when Firepower will come out, we can guess it will be somewhere in the vicinity of mid-March, when the band launches their next headlining tour. Support will come from Saxon and Black Star Riders.
It’s been almost ten years since I last saw Judas Priest live; they shared that bill with Heaven & Hell and Motörhead. That was also, incidentally, the last time I saw Dio or Lemmy. So for the general safety of Saxon’s Biff Byford and BSR’s Ricky Warwick, I will not be attending any of these shows. Everyone else can dates below (via Metal Insider). Obviously we’ll let you know when there’s a Firepower single to hear.
