Linkin Park Announce Chester Bennington Tribute Show
Last month, Linkin Park announced that they were “working on a special public event” in honor of vocalist Chester Bennington, who took his own life in July. The group has now announced details of that special event via Facebook:
“Linkin Park announce a special show in honor of Chester. The one-night-only celebration will take place in Los Angeles at the legendary Hollywood Bowl on Friday, October 27, 2017. The band will be joined by a number of other artists, for an unforgettable night of music to honor the man that touched the lives of so many around the world.”
None of the other artists have been announced yet, if they’re going to be announced at all, but it doesn’t really matter regardless; this show is gonna sell out in a tenth of a second, and will no doubt be a very special experience for fans who get to attend.
Additionally, the group has released a video (co-directed by DJ Joseph Hahn) for the title track from their album One More Light, which was released earlier this year. That album was divisive at the time of its release, but it’s not difficult to understand why the group would choose this song to pay tribute to their lost friend.
