Track Premiere: Through the Eyes of the Dead, “Hate the Living”
Through the Eyes of the Dead’s most recent album Skepsis was released seven-and-a-half years ago. It has now been THREE years since they simply announced they would be putting out a new album, enough time for plenty of bands to write, record and tour on two albums.
But the wait is finally over: after teasing us with several demos and instrumental versions of songs and signing with a new label, the band will indeed make good on their February promise to release a new album in 2017.
The new record is called Disomus and we’ve got the world’s very first taste of new music with album-opener “Hate the Living.” The track has all the hallmarks that have kept all of us fans of this band waiting impatiently for so long, and for those of you who have come of metal age in the past seven years and are wondering why we care so much… now’s your chance to find out.
“Disomus,” by the way, is the medical term describing an abnormal fetus with two bodies but one head. Don’t ever let anyone tell you metal hasn’t taught you anything.
Through the Eyes of the Dead 2017 is:
Danny Rodriguez: vocals
Michael Ranne: drums
Jake Ososkie: bass
Justin Longshore: guitars
Steven Funderburk: guitars (also of Wretched and Lillake)
Original vocalist Anthony Gunnells and his successor, Nate Johnson, make guest appearances on the album.
Disomus comes out October 13th via eOne / Good Fight; pre-order here.
