Now Avenged Sevenfold are Turning The Stage Into an “Evolving Body of Work,” Adding New Tracks
This morning’s unveiling of Avenged Sevenfold’s cover of the old Spanish classic “Malaguena Salerosa” just got a heckuva lot more interesting. From an official press release:
“AVENGED SEVENFOLD are transforming new album THE STAGE into an evolving body of work by adding a series of new tracks over the course of the coming months. Today sees the release of the album’s first new addition: an electrifying cover of Mexican folk song ‘Malagueña Salerosa.’”
This is clearly a push to try and salvage the disappointing sales of The Stage. What I’m not clear about is this whole “evolving body of work” thing. Will the album eventually be reissued with all the new tracks included? If so, how is that any different from every other album which gets re-released a couple of years later with bonus material?
Regardless of the answers, the real takeaway here is that Avenged Sevenfold fans are gonna get a bunch of new songs in the not-too-distant future. Hopefully some of there are actually new and not just covers.
