Glenn Danzig Supports Trump Travel Ban, Thinks Planned Parenthood Sells Baby Parts for Profit
No longer is Glenn Danzig simply the irritable but lovable goon who bitched about French onion soup and simply wanted to move his motherfuckin’ bricks: in his advanced aged, it seems the kitty litter-toting rocker is slowly but surely taking a plunge off the deep end into the Dave Mustaine school of batshit conservatism.
The first symptom presented itself last month when Danzig blamed California wildfires on terrorism, a wholly logical and provable assertion. And now, in an interview with the LA Times to promote this past weekend’s Blackest of the Black festival, he’s got a full-blown case of the itis. Speaking on his perception of himself as a political renegade who doesn’t confirm to any party or stereotype, he offered:
“I might be conservative on some issues, and some issues I’m really liberal. I’m pro-abortion and I’m pro-Planned Parenthood. But I don’t think Planned Parenthood should be selling baby parts like a chop shop in Brooklyn, OK?”
Because we all know how accurate the claim that Planned Parenthood profits from selling fetal tissue is, right?
Later on, after comparing the size of his audiences in Europe to those in the U.S. — unwittingly calling to mind the language used by the Trump administration after the inauguration — Danzig offers his thoughts on the president’s proposed travel ban from Muslim countries:
“It’s really not a travel ban. When you walk into the country, we want to see who you are and what you’re doing.
“Well, when I go to every country right now, they look at me and they see whether I can come in or not. And I’ve been turned away from Canada and other places before.
“Where’s my protest? Where’s my parade?”
Yes, because a white American being denied at the Canadian border for a DUI or weed arrest on his record is totally the same as an outright ban on travel for literally millions of people based on their religion.
In any case, it seems that this version of Glenn Danzig is the one we ought to get used to knowing: generally speaking, the older they get, the more kooky they become. This is terrible news for lovers of common sense but great news for metal gossip sites… so, keep your eyes peeled for more!
