Mastodon’s Brent Hinds Announces His Return to Game of Thrones

Mastodon guitarist and only person in the entire world who thinks Judas Priest aren’t metal, Brent Hinds, has revealed that he’ll cameo on the upcoming seventh season of Game of Thrones. Hinds tells The Jasta Show (via Metal Insider):

“I just came back from my second cameo Game of Thrones. This time, I had my broken leg and they were like ‘You’re doing the best zombie walk, we want you to come right towards the camera. I want you to drag this axe behind you.’ I’m like a reborn, come to life wildling turning into a White Walker.”

Hinds and the rest of his bandmates, you may recall, briefly appeared in season five of the show… as wildlings who are turned into White Walkers. (They also wrote “White Walker,” the definitive White Walker theme song.) So this second cameo is in keeping with continuity, which is kinda neat.

Hinds didn’t mention if the rest of Mastodon were also returning to the show or not, so I guess we’ll find out sometime after July 16, when the new season debuts.
