Listen/Watch: Jared Dines Performs Suicide Silence’s “Silence” as an Emo Song

Big day for emo: first, Donald Trump’s tweets got turned into a mopey emo song, and now Jared Dines (along with vocalist Vincent Mindas and guitarist Brandon Parker) has done the same for “Silence,” the latest divisive single from the band’s new album.

This is, of course, just the latest provocation from Dines, who has been leading the anti-Suicide Silence charge as of late. And as an emo song, it works. But as a piece of satire, well… I think it would be much funnier if they hadn’t had to change the song so darn much. As it stands, they basically took the lyrics and set them to new music. So it doesn’t really “prove” that the new Suicide Silence album is emo, it’s basically just taunting the band for allegedly going emo.
