Megadeth Win “Best Metal Performance” Grammy

Twelfth time’s a charm: after eleven previous Grammy nominations, Megadeth have finally taken home a gold gramophone.

Dave Mustaine and co. beat out Baroness, Gojira, Korn and Periphery in the “Best Metal Performance” Grammy category for their song “Dystopia.” As in past years, the ceremony for the “Best Metal Performance” award will not be on the national telecast but was broadcast online beforehand.

In perhaps the biggest “fuck you” imaginable, Megadeth walked to the stage to a soundtrack of the house band playing Metallica’s “Master of Puppets.” Someone’s idea of a hilarious troll, or honest mistake? Hard to know.

Mustaine thanked Jesus Christ first of all.
