Eyehategod Announce First Show with Mike IX Williams Since His Liver Transplant
Group-hug-worthy news: Eyehategod will perform at April’s Berserker Fest in Pontiac, Michigan… with vocalist Mike IX Williams.
In case you’ve been living under a rock, although the band has been performing with fill-in frontmen like Phil Anselmo and Randy Blythe, this will their first show with Williams since last April. In November, we learned that the renowned frontman was in dire need of a liver transplant; earlier this month, he received that transplant and was said to be recovering nicely. If Williams and his doctors think he’ll be able to perform less than three months from now, he must really be recovering nicely. Like I said: group-hug-worthy news.
Berserker Fest will take place from April 14-15, and will also include GWAR, The Obsessed, Weedeater, and tons of other rad bands. Get more details here. And don’t forget that the band will playing a string of benefit shows for Williams next month. Definitely go to one of those if you’re in a position to do so.
