Listen to a New Nine Inch Nails Song, “Burning Bright (Field on Fire),” Right Now!
Oh, Trent Reznor, you scamp — you’re always so full of surprises!
Nine Inch Nails have released their new EP, Not the Actual Events, a day ahead of schedule. You can get it here. Mr. Reznor has also released a song from the EP, “Burning Bright (Field on Fire),” should you wish to sample the goods before making your purchase.
Which you should probably do. Anyone hoping for an average NIN track may be disappointed by “Burning Bright,” which lacks hooks or even a traditional song structure. Frankly, it sounds like G.C. Green testing levels for a Godflesh recording session while Reznor mumbles and occasionally screams over it. “Closer” it ain’t. No idea if this is indicative of the rest of the EP or not, but if it is… well, that’s kinda disappointing.
